This weekend, the Wildcat Wrestling team competed in the County tournament. The team had a strong showing, with 4 medal finishers out of 8 participants, and 8 of 8 wrestlers advancing to next week.
Nicholas Libcke was a 2nd place finisher, dropping a heartbreaker in the final match by 1 point.
Jose Carillo, Robert Taylor, and Geoferry Love, won all of their matches on Saturday to finish 3rd in the county in their respective weight classes.
Marco Matta, Henry Benitez, Jose Arguetta, and Coutrney Hill, all advance as well.
This weekend, everyone will travel to Flowers on Friday and Saturday to compete for a chance to make it to the State tournament the following week. All of the hard work during the season, comes down to these few matches.

Despite a depleted roster riddled by sickness, minor injuries, and car troubles, the team rallied with a series of pins to beat out Fairmount Heights for our final regular season match, to finish out 11-3, and secure 3rd place in the 4a South regional.
Up next is a series of post-season tournaments beginning Wednesday with the team regional tournament, followed by the individual County Tournament on the 16th and 17th. We have several wrestlers that have the potential to place, and move on to the regionals, which are the precursor to the state tournament.
